Attending ATTRACT Final Conference in Brussels
We showcased the results of the ATTRACT EU MetaHilight Project as well as the continuation of our work through EIC OPTIPATH (https://eic-optipath.eu/).
ATTRACT hosted several panel discussions related to the importance of bringing European research to innovation. They included several members of the European Commission and the European Parliament, as well as other important figures in the European innovation ecosystem.
Mali M Baum of the EIC participated in a panel discussion on “How to overcome the Valley of Death for Deep Tech” and spoke warmly about the need to make entrepreneurs “choose Europe”.

Many are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the proposed structure for the 10th European Framework Program for Research and Innovation (FP10) around July 16th. In this context Doris Schröcker (Head of Unit, Industrial Research, Innovation & Investment Agendas, DG RTD, European Commission) emphasized the importance of “technology infrastructure (TI)” for the future.
Brendan McDonagh (Senior Advisor, European Investment Bank Advisory Hub) spoke about wanting to offer access to TI through new financing models.
René Repasi of the European Parliament talked about the importance of maintaining peer governance of Europe’s research funding.
